Aquí hay magia, en esta canción encontramos pasión y destreza interpretativa pero ante todo, una convicción de querer hacer bien las cosas, algo que queda demostrado con solo haber escuchado las primeras notas de Seven Broken Hearts. Reconozco las influencias, descubro los recuerdos que me traen, pero ante todo admiro la facilidad con la que han reunido todos esos sonidos y creado algo nuevo y especial con un sello propio llamado Glasspop. Entre los artistas que citan como influencia están Muse, White Lies y Editors y en efecto sus sonidos transpiran a través de la música y la manera en la que la canción está compuesta, pero hay mucho más que eso y es ese material propio que logra hacer que esos sonidos que provienen de otros grupos cobren otra vida bajo la batuta de esta agrupación polaca. A esa lista de músicos que los inspiró agregaría además a los canadienses de Faunts, la atmósfera que producen evoca a la que pudimos escuchar en M4 Part II.
Usualmente me inclino hacia las canciones que he conocido desde hace tiempo para escribir una entrada, pero hay ocasiones en las que un tema nuevo se presenta ante mí y me mueve de tal manera que se vuelve una necesidad comunicarlo en este blog. Pero esa necesidad nace del asombro que la canción me produce y del verdadero placer que resulta el llegar a mis lectores y decirles ¡escuchen esto! Y Seven Broken Hearts una vez más me recuerda por qué amo tanto la música y lo afortunado que me siento de seguir abierto a escuchar nuevas propuestas de grupos muy diferentes a los que estoy acostumbrado.
En repetidas ocasiones he leído y escuchado el argumento que «ya no se hace buena música», algo con lo que estoy completamente en desacuerdo pues se sigue haciendo música maravillosamente buena, la diferencia es que ahora hace falta un poco más de trabajo poder encontrarla, pero allí está, a la espera de quien quiera ir en su búsqueda o en el camino de los afortunados a los que se les atraviese a su paso. Y eso fue lo que me sucedió con esta canción, gracias a que Glasspop se agregó a mi lista de seguidores en Instagram visité su canal de YouTube y justo fue Seven Broken Hearts la primera canción que escuché de ellos. Como en el caso de Tonic Breed y su canción Crypto Knight, el destino hizo que conociera una canción que me llenó de entusiasmo y nuevamente me recordó que sigue habiendo buena música nueva.
Glasspop fue formada en 2016 en Poznan, Polonia por Marcin «Maverick» Kujawa en la voz y Piotr Tarnawski en el bajo. Posteriormente se unieron Maciej Zdanowicz en la guitarra y Jeremiasz Baum en la batería. Seven Broken Hearts pertenece a su primer álbum, titulado Stranger In The Mirror. Y nuevamente Polonia me sorprende con su música, pues con el tiempo he ido descubriendo nueva bandas de este país que me dejan con la boca abierta por su calidad musical como Riverside, Indukti, Tides From Nebula, Underfate y Besides y a las dos últimas dediqué entradas en este blog. Glasspop se une a esta lista y si hay justicia en el mundo, esta agrupación será conocida, reconocida y tendrá larga trayectoria y por lo mismo agregué otras canciones de la banda para que también puedan escucharlas, su calidad es admirable.

Glasspop – Seven Broken Hearts (2019)
There’s magic here, in this song we find passion and playing skills but above all, a conviction of wanting to do things well, something that is demonstrated by just having listened to the first notes of Seven Broken Hearts. I recognize the influences, I discover the memories they bring back, but above all I admire the ease with which they have brought together all those sounds and created something new and special with their own style called Glasspop. Among the artists they cite as influences are Muse, White Lies and Editors and indeed their sounds transpire through the music and the way the song is composed, but there is much more than that and it is their own material that manages to do just that. The sounds that come from other groups take on another life under the direction of this Polish group. To that list of musicians who inspired them I would also add the Canadians from Faunts, the atmosphere they produce evokes the one we heard in M4 Part II.
Usually I lean towards the songs that I have known for a long time to write a blog entry, but there are times when I discover a new song and it moves me in such a way that it becomes a necessity to communicate it on this platform. But that need stems from the amazement that the song produces in me and from the real pleasure that comes from reaching out to my readers and saying listen to this! And Seven Broken Hearts once again reminds me why I love music so much and how fortunate I feel to continue to be open to listening to new proposals from groups very different from the ones I am used to.
On several occasions I have read and heard the argument that «good music is no longer being recorded», something with which I completely disagree because wonderfully good music is still being made, the difference is that now it takes a little more work to find it, but there it is, waiting for whoever wants to go in search of it or on the path of the lucky ones who cross its path. And that’s what happened to me with this song, thanks to the fact that Glasspop joined my list of followers on Instagram, I visited their YouTube channel and Seven Broken Hearts was the first song I heard from them. As in the case of Tonic Breed and its song Crypto Knight, fate made me meet a song that filled me with enthusiasm and again reminded me that there is still great new music being made.
Glasspop was formed in 2016 in Poznan, Poland by Marcin “Maverick” Kujawa on vocals and Piotr Tarnawski on bass. Later they were joined by Maciej Zdanowicz on guitar and Jeremiasz Baum on drums. Seven Broken Hearts is included in their first album, titled Stranger In The Mirror. And again Poland surprises me with their music, because over the last few years I have been discovering new bands from this country that leave me speechless because of their musical quality such as Riverside, Indukti, Tides From Nebula, Underfate and Besides, and I dedicated entries to the last two on this blog. Glasspop joins this list and if there is justice in the world, this group will be known, recognized and will have a long history and for this reason I added other songs from the band so that you can also listen to them, their quality is wonderful.
